Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida Satya Gedela, MD, was named the new Chief of Neurology at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida, in November 2023. Dr. Gedela also serves as Co-Director of the Neuroscience Center and Vice Chair of Pediatrics.

Dr. Gedela is a board-certified neurologist with more than 30 years of experience in treating and diagnosing neurological conditions, with a primary focus on epilepsy. Most recently, Dr. Gedela served as Chief of the Brain Health Center and Division Chief of Neurology at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Additionally, he has held several academic appointments and director positions including Director of Epilepsy Center and Medical Director of Epilepsy Surgery Program, as well as Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) Director at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He serves as a peer reviewer for the American Academy of Neurology and is involved in several professional and society memberships including the American Academy of Pediatrics, Child Neurology Society, American Epilepsy Society and American Clinical Neurophysiology Society. Dr. Gedela is the medical editor for Neurodiagnostic Journal. He has also published 50 posters and more than 30 medical journal articles.

Dr. Gedela received his Doctor of Medicine from Andhra University. He was also trained, and board certified in United Kingdom. He completed his residency in child neurology at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and a fellowship in pediatric epilepsy.
