Louisiana - Member-at-Large
Allison served as the executive director of the Epilepsy Alliance Louisiana for more than seven years. She was responsible for implementing the organization’s business plan to advance its goals and to achieve its mission. As a problem solver, she increased the budget by 88 percent with sustainable funding, raised more than $1 million for epilepsy services and streamlined processes for the statewide organization. But she will tell you that her greatest accomplishment has been teaching others how to self-advocate.
Allison has worked tirelessly to bring common-sense policies to Louisiana, benefitting those who needed access to prescriptions and healthcare. “I’ve had a passion for advocacy from the very beginning. I want to use my voice for those who cannot.” She is now a director on the advocacy team at Moore, a communications agency, and responsible for coalition building and engagement, and public relations.
A founding member of Epilepsy Alliance America, Allison plans to continue volunteering to teach the importance of advocacy on a local, state and federal level and to help empower communities to use their voices. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Mississippi and is pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree from Louisiana State University Shreveport.
