Our Network Continues to Grow 

 

Epilepsy Alliance America is proud to announce two new member organizations: Epilepsy Support Network of Orange County and LGS Foundation.

Epilepsy Support Network of Orange County (California) is committed to building a community of support to improve the lives of those affected by epilepsy through education, programs and advocacy. The organization was founded in 2009 by a committed group of compassionate, vision-driven people determined to provide urgent support and essential services to the estimated 38,000 Orange County residents, and their families, living with epilepsy.

LGS Foundation logo

The Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS) Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals impacted by LGS through advancing research, awareness, education, and family support. Approximately 48,000 children and adults in the United States have LGS. LGS constitutes bewteen 3-4% of all children with epilepsy and 1-2% of all people with epilepsy.

HOBSCOTCH: One-on-One Cognitive Coaching 

 

People with epilepsy commonly have problems with cognitive functions such as learning, concentration, and memory. These problems can occur for a variety of reasons, including the underlying cause of a person’s epilepsy, brain abnormalities, recurrent seizures, side effects of anti-seizure medicines, or any combination of these.

 

HOBSCOTCH was developed to help individuals with epilepsy adapt and work through various difficulties, including thinking or memory problems.
